Stiff Little Fingers: Barbed Wire Love Tells the Story in the Fans’ Own Words

Belfast’s finest are getting the oral-history treatment. Barbed Wire Love: A People’s History of Stiff Little Fingers, compiled and edited by Ian Templeton, is out March 5, 2027 on Spenwood Books, and the band announced it on October 24.

It covers the glory years, from the start in early 1977 to the “farewell” shows of February 1983: Inflammable Material, Nobody’s Heroes, Hanx, Go For It and Now Then. More than 500 fan stories sit alongside memories from current and former members, friends and others on the Belfast scene, plus unseen photos and a foreword by Jake Burns.

It’s a 352-page illustrated paperback, £30 from Burning Shed, and every pre-order comes with an exclusive SLF photo. Order by Friday, November 13 and your name (or a mate’s) gets printed in the book as a sponsor. Alternative Ulster, in your own words.
