Next stop on our tour of the regional scenes: California and the West Coast, from San Diego up to the Puget Sound. Flogging Molly’s home turf, where the Irish pubs have patios and the circle pits get sunburnt. The Mollys are out at sea this week with no 2027 dates posted yet, so here’s what everyone else is up to.

Various: Raise Your Pints, Vol. 3
September 18, 2018
Another great compilation here from our continental cousins over at MacSlon’s Irish Pub Radio. As always if you want to know what’s going on with new bands on the scene (and especially Europe) then Raise Your Pints is the starting point. Twenty great tracks in all and not a bad one amongst them. Highlights include, The Flogging Molly-ish Brick Top Blaggers, Uncle Bard and the Dirty Bastards, the might Ferocious Dog, Black Water Country, the Do or Die era Tortilla Flats and The Fatty Farmers.
Brick Top Blaggers: Coaster
October 6, 2012
Coaster is a fine Paddy-punk album from CA’s Brick Top Blaggers – speedy and spunk Irish influence folk punk with just the right mix of tradition and rock’n’roll bound together by love of the rare ‘ol mountain dew (and maybe even The Pogues) – reminiscent of Sir Reg and Flogging Molly. The Oregon Song is outstanding and a must hear.
