Shane MacGowan tribute album 20th Century Paddy isn’t out until November 13, but the wake starts early. Rubyworks has announced launch events running November 9 to 18 across Ireland, the UK, Europe, Japan, Australia and New York.

Dublin kicks off at Whelan’s on November 9: Victoria Mary Clarke in conversation with album artists, track previews, and live sets from Cronin, Camille O’Sullivan and David Keenan. London gets a similar night with Johnny Mac and the Faithful and Lisa Moorish. Glasgow parties at Apostel on the Gallowgate on November 18, Tokyo gets Pinch of Snuff, and New York gets Jimmy Artache. Listening parties hit Galway, Limerick, Tipperary, Belfast, Melbourne and Sydney.

The 36-track set features Dropkick Murphys, Madra Salach, The Pogues, U2, Springsteen and Tom Waits, with at least half of artist royalties going to the Dublin Simon Community. Dublin, London and New York are ticket-holders only.
