UK Scene Report: Ferocious Dog’s Final Bark, Skinny Lister’s Blowout and Levellers Fill Hammersmith

First stop on the UK beat, and it looks like a farewell year that refuses to quiet down. Nottinghamshire folk-punkers are counting the last Hell Hound nights, the shanty crew are packing Camden, Brighton’s crusty standard-bearers finally fill Hammersmith, and the visitors keep pouring through.

Ferocious Dog are deep into their Ferocious UK Farewell Tour 2026, the last year of sweaty stages and late-night drives after a decade-plus of Celtic folk-punk from Nottinghamshire. The run still has plenty of stops left — including Manchester Club Academy (November 13) and MK11 in Milton Keynes (November 15) — before the full stop: Rock City, Nottingham, on Saturday, November 28, with Mad Dog Mcrea and Shank’s Pony. Home turf. Last chorus. No next time.

Skinny Lister keep the floor moving through November — Cheltenham’s Steam and Whistle (October 30), Peterborough Met Lounge (November 1), Newport Isle of Wight (November 6), Bournemouth (November 7) and Plymouth Junction (November 8) — then throw Skinny Lister’s Big Blowout at Camden’s Electric Ballroom on Friday, December 11, with Pet Needs and Mad Dog Mcrea. Hair of the Sea Dog lands the next night at the Cutty Sark in Greenwich.

The Levellers are still out celebrating 35 years of Levelling The Land, with The Meffs on all dates and Ned’s Atomic Dustbin joining the bigger nights. UK dates from here include Glasgow Barrowland (October 24), York Barbican (October 29), Llandudno Venue Cymru (October 30), Blackpool Empress Ballroom (October 31), Nottingham Rock City (November 19), Bristol (November 20) and their first headline show at London’s Eventim Apollo, Hammersmith, on Saturday, November 21.

Mad Dog Mcrea have the purple Happy Bus out for the Dusk Till Dawn Autumn Tour: a long UK haul to Christmas with a new album in tow. London gets them twice — The Half Moon, Putney (October 29) and that Electric Ballroom blowout (December 11) — with Manchester’s Deaf Institute (November 14), a Brudenell matinee in Leeds (November 15) and Rock City on Ferocious Dog’s final night among the stops before a West Country finish into late December.
