The Manky Melters Raise a Glass With The Rumjacks’ Mike Rivkees

Alsatian six-piece The Manky Melters have three new songs out, led by the single “Tant qu’on est ivre”, released October 29 with Mike Rivkees of The Rumjacks (ex-Mickey Rickshaw) roaring on guest vocals.

The title plays on a double meaning: “l’ivresse” is both being drunk and being drunk on life, a nod to a line from Tolstoy’s War and Peace: “We live only as long as we’re intoxicated by life.” Fronted by singer Giada, with three members of Alsace Celtic rockers The Moorings in the ranks, the band round out the release with “Never Grow Cold”, featuring Punch Drunk Poets and Paddy Kåsmoli, and the stomper “Molly”. Catch them at Sternen in Auggen, Germany, on November 14, then Hameln and Düsseldorf in December and Heilbronn’s Irish Folk Festival in January.
