Dublin’s faceless Craic Machine have plugged in. Their second single, “Someone Said My Name,” out since October 23, throws Galway banjo hotshot Enda Scahill (four All-Ireland titles, a Steve Martin Banjo Award and a founding seat in We Banjo 3) into a scrap with a wall of heavy electric guitars. Nobody taps out.
It’s a hard turn from July’s slow, shadowy debut “Night Mode.” This one bolts from the first bar, and the video matches it: dark, noir animation in deep blues and blacks, with a ghostly figure drifting in and out.
Who’s actually in the band? They’re not saying. There’s no fixed lineup, players rotate song by song, and a debut album is due in early 2027. More banjo-versus-amp punch-ups, please.
