Next stop on our tour of the regional scenes: California and the West Coast, from San Diego up to the Puget Sound. Flogging Molly’s home turf, where the Irish pubs have patios and the circle pits get sunburnt. The Mollys are out at sea this week with no 2027 dates posted yet, so here’s what everyone else is up to.
The Young Dubliners, LA’s Irish rock lifers, have their spring 2027 West Coast run on the books, billed on the Menlo Park poster as The Rising Road Tour: Nashville Social Club, Carson City, Nevada (March 11); Folktale Winery, Carmel-by-the-Sea (March 12); The Guild Theatre, Menlo Park (March 13); then up to Washington for the Airport Tavern in Tacoma (March 18) and the APEX Art and Culture Center in Everett (March 19). Keith Roberts and co. still have the New Album Pledge Drive open on their site for that long-awaited tenth record.
Bridge City Sinners, Portland’s dark folk-punk carnival of banjo, fiddle and upright bass, wrap up their Halloween run and come home for the New Year’s Evil Tour with Riley Downing of The Deslondes and Roselit Bone: Shrine Social Club, Boise (December 30); Roseland Theater, Portland on New Year’s Eve; Wild Buffalo, Bellingham (January 1); and The Pearl, Vancouver (January 2). Not strictly Celtic, but nobody in that pit is checking passports.
Brick Top Blaggers are back at full strength, with fiddler Karin back on stage after welcoming a brand new little Blagger. The SoCal crew play The Shamrock in Murrieta on December 5, see in 2027 at The Field Irish Pub in San Diego on New Year’s Eve, then settle back into their Shamrock home on January 22, February 20, April 24 and May 29.
