Budapest’s howling Huns Firkin have reached the age of majority. Eighteen years of Hungarian Celtic punk gets a proper birthday blowout on Friday, November 6, at Barba Negra’s Blue Stage in Budapest.
The band are rounding up their best musician mates as guests, promising fresh tunes on the horizon, and once the electric racket’s done they’ll go acoustic for a fan-favourite Irish táncház (dance house) to keep the floor moving.
Members of the Firkin Family Facebook group can get in early from 6pm for a big pre-show toast with the band (pre-registration required). Doors are at 7pm. Tickets are 5,999 HUF in advance and 7,999 HUF on the day, via Barba Negra. Fittingly for an 18th, under-18s need an adult with them.
Not bad for a crew we were raving about back in 2010 with Firkinful of Beer. Pints up.
