Budapest Celtic punkers Jolly Jackers have put out their fifth studio album, The Weird Ones: ten tracks and 33 minutes of fiddle, flute and whistle crashing into loud guitars. It landed on September 18 via Bandcamp and the usual streamers.

Earlier singles “Toilet”, a lovesick sprint, and “Bang Your Head”, a sneering “Governing for dummies” lecture for the ruling class, are both on board, alongside “A Little Drunk” and the Hungarian-titled “Szikra” and “Viláng”.

Fronted by flute and pennywhistle player Rea, the five-piece play Budapest’s BARhole on October 17, then head to Austria to support Fiddler’s Green on their 35th anniversary tour, six dates from Innsbruck’s Music Hall on October 29 to Dornbirn’s Conrad Sohm on December 5.

Weird? Maybe. Worth your Bandcamp money? Absolutely.
